Bonsucro is a certification scheme specifically designed for the sustainable production of sugarcane. It assesses the performance of farms and the supply chain across three key dimensions: environmental, social, and economic. The standard requires compliance with measurable indicators on topics such as:
- Efficient use of water, energy, and fertilizers.
- Protection of soil, biodiversity, and sensitive areas.
- Safe and fair working conditions.
- Product traceability from field to consumer.
- Legal compliance and good management practices.
