ARA is a national standard that certifies responsible cotton production in Argentina, integrating criteria for environmental sustainability, legal compliance, traceability, and good social practices. It applies to individual producers or producer groups seeking to demonstrate the origin and quality of their cotton in commercial chains that value sustainability and local production.

    About the standard

    The scheme was developed by key players in the Argentine cotton sector, with support from technical bodies and reference organizations. It evaluates criteria such as the efficient use of natural resources, responsible soil management, regulatory compliance, product traceability from the field, and respect for labor rights.


    ARA aims to strengthen the identity of Argentine cotton, increase its added value, and facilitate access to markets that demand traceability, sustainability, and verified quality. It promotes a more sustainable material sourcing strategy, enabling all actors in the textile and cotton supply chain to use a distinctive seal and promote better cotton.
