VISEC – Traceability Platform for Deforestation-Free Soy and Beef
VISEC is a national platform developed by key Argentine organizations (CIARA‑CEC, The Nature Conservancy, Tropical Forest Alliance, and Peterson). Its goal is to ensure environmental and legal compliance traceability for soy and beef batches intended for the European market, in line with EU Regulation 2023/1115 on deforestation.

VISEC
About the VISEC Protocol
It operates as an MRV system (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification), applying farm georeferencing, satellite imagery, and tracking from the production site to the shipping port.
Benefits of working with VISEC + Control Union
Requirements to apply
- Production must be georeferenced and uploaded to the VISEC platform.
- Compliance with EUDR criteria, such as no deforestation after 12/31/2020 – verified by satellite.
- Registration as an operator on the VISEC platform for the verification of plants, factories, ports, and shipments.
- Provision of documentation related to traceability and legal declarations.
What is Control Union’s role?
Control Union is authorized as an independent verification body for plants, factories, ports, and goods within shipments using the VISEC platform.
