ISCC EU
ISCC EU is a scheme recognized by the European Commission to demonstrate that the production of biomass, bioliquids, and biofuels meets the sustainability requirements established by the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II). It is mandatory for companies that produce or market biofuels for the European Union market.

ISCC EU
About the standard
This module assesses criteria for environmental sustainability, traceability, greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, and compliance with no-deforestation zones. It applies to the entire chain: biomass producers, processing plants, logistics operators, exporters, and traders. The system includes mass balances, sustainability declarations, emissions calculations, and annual verification by an accredited entity.
Benefits
Certification under the ISCC EU scheme has multiple advantages, including:
And if you need to certify for voluntary markets?
If, in addition to biofuels, you work with non-energy products (food, plastics, chemicals, recycled materials), you can add ISCC PLUS to your ISCC EU certification. Both schemes share a common structure, but focus on different markets.
Why choose Control Union?
Control Union was one of the first organizations in Latin America to certify under ISCC EU. We have proven technical expertise, operational coverage in the field, plants, and ports, and a dedicated team.
