ISCC Plus
ISCC Plus is a thorough basis for the voluntary implementation of sustainability criteria in supply chains which are similar to the EU RED. Companies with an existing ISCC-EU certificate are able to extend to ISCC PLUS during the certificate validity period and benefit this way from the additional possibilities an ISCC PLUS certification offers in market applications outside the EU fuel market.

About the standard
This module covers complete supply chains in sectors such as agriculture, the chemical industry, packaging, the bioeconomy, and recycling. It assesses environmental criteria, traceability, and mass balance, with rules adaptable to complex operations. It also allows for certification of attributes such as “deforestation-free,” “post-consumer recycled,” or “biobased.”
How did ISCC come about?
After launching the ISCC standard for the European Renewable Energy Directive, ISCC was soon successfully implemented in supply chains. Feedback from certified companies and their affiliated industries showed interest in applying ISCC beyond the scope of biofuels under EU RED. ISCC PLUS is therefore a good foundation for sustainability in other industries. ISCC PLUS also applies to feedstocks that do not qualify under EU RED but are relevant for other market applications.
